In a move that will combine RAWA’s airport business planning expertise with airport master planning, RAWA was selected to perform a strategic master plan for Sugar Land Regional Airport (SGR). The Airport is the fourth largest airport in the Houston metro area, and has won multiple national and international awards for a city-operated FBO service.
The Airport features an 8,000-foot runway and caters to corporate aviation, along with smaller general aviation users. By including business planning methods in the master planning process, RAWA hopes to develop a new product that allows strategic planning for proactive airport sponsors.
Rather than focus exclusively on facilities, the strategic master plan will consider new methods of attracting aviation activity, non-aviation property development, revenue enhancement options, and strategic management recommendations.
