R.A. Wiedemann & Associates, Inc. was selected to perform a business plan with a distinct follow-on marketing program for the Ashtabula County Airport (Northeast Ohio Regional Airport) in northeast Ohio. The Airport is located between Cleveland and Erie (PA) and serves a growing area of business, energy exploration (Utica Shale), and a large specialty sports complex. As a part of the business plan, the economic impact of the airport was assessed.

The business plan was undertaken in order to provide the Airport Authority with a business model for operating the airport. In the past, it had been run as a public utility, not a customer-oriented business.

Since the business plan, the name of the Airport has been changed to Northeast Ohio Regional Airport as a part of the new branding program. The subsequent marketing plan took each of the business planning recommendations and implemented those through various marketing means. The process resulted in a new brand for the airport, including website, logo, name change, and direct marketing for corporate aviation.
