R.A. Wiedemann & Associates, Inc. was selected to perform an Airport Business Plan for New Braunfels Municipal Airport. In this regard, the City of New Braunfels desires to move its Airport to the next level of corporate aviation service.

They had secured a runway extension that would lengthen Runway 13-31 to 6,500 feet. Also, the City-operated Air Traffic Control Tower had recently been accepted into the FAA’s Contract Tower Program.

R.A. Wiedemann & Associates was asked to develop new minimum standards for the Airport and to develop plans for expanding the business base. The business plan recommended a proactive role of the City in marketing their services and improving the Airport brand.

In keeping with the business plan recommendations, land around the Airport was annexed into the City. In addition to this, the recommendation for a name change from "Municipal" to "Regional" has been adopted.
